The book “Montessori from the Start,” written by Paula Polk Lillard and her daughter, Lynn Lillard Jessen,
provides a comprehensive and practical approach to how parents and caregivers can help their children from birth to age three in their journey of self-discovery using the Montessori Method.
The authors gave detailed and easy-to internalise instructions on how to raise a child the Montessori way as well as a blueprint on what a baby’s bedroom should look like. According to them, the bedroom should be beautiful enough and adorned with child-sized materials which will give the child a sense of belonging. The book explains the fact that children have sensitive periods for learning different skills and that some of these sensitive periods
begin as early as from birth.
