My classroom prior to introducing the Montessori method was chaotic. Children playing rough, pushing one another and manhandling school property. Each day I had to scream at the top of my lungs to get them to listen and I knew at the top of my mind there had to be a better way to reach these children. So I began to research into more progressive methods of education and I discovered the Montessori Method. I was particularly fascinated by how children in Montessori school are so calm and organised even when their teacher is not there. It felt like it was impossible to get my class to that point.
