Freedom in the Montessori environment

The Montessori classroom is a conducive environment carefully prepared by a trained Montessori director/directress  with all the necessary elements required for a child’s social and embryonic development. In this environment, children are given the freedom to explore and engage themselves in purposeful work with colourful, child-sized Montessori materials for the psychic integration of their body and mind.

According to Maria Montessori, freedom in intellectual work is found to be the basis of internal discipline.
