Nurturing your child’s curiosity

‘’What do butterflies eat?”, “Why can’t I fly?”, “How do they grow?” Questions upon questions! Children can be amusing and  you sometimes wonder, ‘’How about I just insert an encyclopaedia into your brain?’’

Recently, I was busy in the kitchen removing seeds from a bunch of fruits. My three-year-old strolled in, peered into the bowl and asked curiously, ‘’mama, what’s that?’’ I replied, ”these are dates.’’ ‘’Dates? What’s dates?’’ ‘’Dates are fruits.’’ ‘’Fruits? What’s fruits?’’ she asked further. “Here we go,” I said to myself. “This is going to be a long morning.” Sounds familiar?
